Caol Ila 11 Year Old Single Malt Whisky 2026 Feis Ile Release 56.1%

This 11 year old Caol Ila Fèis Ìle 2026 release was finished in former Don Julio tequila casks. A pioneering first for the distillery and the result is a genuinely exciting dram, nicknamed 'Tequila Caol Ila.' Initially matured in first-fill bourbon barrels before a two year finish in American oak Don Julio tequila casks. Bottled at a bold natural cask strength of 56.1% abv.

Caol Ila's hallmark brine and coastal smoke are all present, but the tequila cask adds a welcome new dimension.  Zesty citrus peel, fresh herbs and a faint earthy agave character give the whisky an unexpected lift and vibrancy. The finish is clean, warming and surprisingly refreshing.

One of just 1,080 bottles released to mark the 40th anniversary of Islay's beloved whisky festival. A bold and brilliantly original Caol Ila.
