Yamazaki 18 Year Old Single Malt Japanese Whisky 700mL

The pioneer of Japanese Whisky is wonderful example of what Japanese whisky is capable of. We absolutely love this. Extremely smooth, with great complexity and a lovely balance of fruit, silky malt and a touch of smoke.

In this case, all are at least 18 years old, but some are much older. Roughly 80% of the whisky is aged in Sherry cask with American and Mizunara casks used for the remaining 20%.

The Yamazaki whisky is Suntory's flagship single malt whisky, from Japan’s first and oldest malt distillery. With a range of options from Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve to 12, 18, and 25 years old, all of these prized whiskies contain carefully blended components aged in American, Spanish, and Japanese Mizunara oak.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Deep amber.

Nose: Raisin, apricot, cafe au lait, Mizunara (Japanese oak).

Palate: Blackberry, strawberry jam, dark chocolate.

Finish: Long, spicy, smooth.
