Distilled at Tomintoul in 2001 and matured for 24 years before being bottled in 2025 by Gordon & MacPhail for their Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength range.

This single cask Speyside whisky was matured in a refill American hogshead, cask number 6273, and bottled on 10th June 2025 at a natural cask strength of 55.7% ABV. Bottled without chill filtration and with natural colour, this UK Exclusive yielded just 263 bottles.

Tomintoul takes its name from the nearby village, one of the highest in the Scottish Highlands, and draws its production water from the Ballantruan spring in the surrounding Cairngorms. The distillery has traditionally pursued a gentle, approachable style of Speyside spirit, making this 24-year-old cask-strength bottling an interesting example of how that character develops over a much longer maturation.

Gordon & MacPhail's tasting notes describe tropical fruit aromas with cocoa powder and soft herbal notes, followed by pineapple and toasted almonds, with honey, citrus and mature oak on the finish.
