The Epicurean is Douglas Laing’s Lowland blended malt Scotch whisky, created in small batches from a selection of single malts sourced from distilleries across Scotland’s Lowland region. Designed to showcase the lighter, fruitier style traditionally associated with the Lowlands, The Epicurean forms part of Douglas Laing’s Remarkable Regional Malts range.

This limited edition takes the regular Epicurean blend and gives it an additional period of maturation in a single Amarone wine cask. Amarone is the rich, full-bodied red wine of Italy’s Veneto region, produced from partially dried grapes, and the cask has been selected to complement the whisky while adding further depth and complexity to its established Lowland character.

Bottled at 48% without colouring or chill-filtration, this was a limited release of just 888 bottles.

Douglas Laing describes the character as ripe fruits, juicy barley, warming oak and sweet nuttiness, with the influence of the cask adding new layers of depth and complexity.

Please Note: This bottle is a part of a large batch of bin-ends we recently picked up at a great price, enabling us to pass on savings to our customers. However, only one or two bottles of each product were included in the parcel - so when they’re gone they’re gone!
