Beskrivning

Six Cask Types. King Alexander III. The Dalmore — the most complex multi-cask expression in The Dalmore’s standard range, matured in six distinct cask types simultaneously: American white oak ex-bourbon, South African Cabernet Sauvignon barriques, Madeira barriques, Marsala barrels, Tawny Port pipes, and sherry butts.

The King Alexander III is named for the 13th-century Scottish king who granted the Mackenzie clan — historical custodians of The Dalmore — the right to use the stag crest that became the distillery’s emblem. The six-cask program translates the ambition of that heraldic legacy into whisky complexity: six wine and spirit traditions from four continents, all applied simultaneously to the same Highland malt base.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why six cask types?

The Dalmore’s house philosophy emphasizes multi-cask complexity. The King Alexander III takes this furthest in the standard range — six wine and spirit traditions from four continents applied simultaneously to create layered tropical fruit, citrus, and spice character.

Does this contain an age statement?

No — the King Alexander III is NAS. The multi-cask philosophy prioritizes flavor complexity over age, selecting components at peak character regardless of maturation length.
