Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strength 2025 Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700mL

2025 Release / 55.9% ABV

Beginning in 2010, Springbank began releasing two vattings per year of a twelve-year-old cask strength malt, aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks at around a 60:40 or 70:30 ratio (depends on the vatting). The distillery releases one in Winter/Spring and one in Summer/Fall.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: A sweet and inviting introduction to this dram, we have notes of fruit salad candy, raspberry ripple, dried mango, frosting and dark chocolate.

Palate: The complexity builds in the palate with notes of smoked cayenne pepper, crushed chillies, toffee and charred steak.

Finish: Gentle peat smoke emerges in the finish, along with notes of pink grapefruit, cocoa powder, glazed cherries and salted pretzels.

The palate is fat and oily, with pepper, peat and caramel. A warming embrace, with lots of spices, but also oranges.
