Distilled on 11th July 2005 from an undisclosed Speyside distillery and matured for 21 years before being bottled on 14th July 2026 by Signatory Vintage for their prestigious Symington's Choice range.

The identity of the distillery is not officially stated, with Signatory using the designation Speyside (M) for these releases. The "(M)" bottlings are widely understood to originate from Macallan, although they are presented by Signatory as undisclosed Speyside single malts. Other 2005 Speyside (M) casks released by Signatory have similarly made extensive use of first fill Oloroso sherry butts.

This Speyside (M) single malt was matured in a first fill Oloroso sherry butt, cask number DRU17/A106 #108, and bottled at a natural cask strength of 59.4% ABV. The cask yielded a total of 635 bottles.

At 21 years old, this is the oldest whisky bottled from the well-regarded parcel of 2005 stock, with maturation in a first fill Oloroso sherry butt giving it a distinctly sherry-led style. It is also the only Speyside (M) bottled for the Symington's Choice label to date, a range personally selected by Signatory founder Andrew Symington, setting it apart from the younger 2005 Speyside (M) casks released through the Cask Strength Collection in recent years.
