Pittyvaich 12 Year Old Flora & Fauna
Beskrivning
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 43%
Released as part of Diageo's much-loved Flora & Fauna series, this 12-year-old Pittyvaich is one of the rarest and most sought-after official bottlings from a distillery with a remarkably short history. Built in Dufftown in 1974 to help meet blending demand, Pittyvaich remained in operation for little more than 18 years before production ceased in 1993. The distillery was eventually demolished in 2002, ensuring that every remaining bottling has become a finite piece of Scotch whisky history.
The Flora & Fauna range provided enthusiasts with one of the very few opportunities to experience Pittyvaich as a single malt during its lifetime. Bottled at 43% ABV, this 12-year-old showcases the distillery's distinctive Speyside character, combining elegant fruitiness with a gently spicy, malty profile that stood apart from many of its neighbours.
This example dates from the late 1990s to early 2000s and represents one of the classic releases from the Flora & Fauna collection. Increasingly difficult to find, it remains a highly desirable bottling for collectors, particularly as official releases from the closed Pittyvaich distillery continue to disappear from the market.
