Old Sport 19 Year American Straight Whiskey Barrel #7 Vanilla After Dark 137.5 Proof 750ml
Beskrivning
Nineteen years old, uncut and unfiltered at 137.5 proof — Old Sport barrel #7, nicknamed "Vanilla After Dark," bottled by Mark Carter under a blue wax top and delivered in a branded wooden presentation box.
The barrel gave up 78 bottles in total. Nineteen years is a long time for American whiskey by any measure, and a cask that survives it with this much sweetness intact is the reason the pick got a name rather than just a number.
"Vanilla After Dark" refers to what the barrel actually does. Brown sugar and dark caramel lead, mature oak and warm spice build behind them, and the finish carries an unmistakable vanilla frosting character that keeps going well past where most whiskeys at this proof have burned off.
Bottled by Old Sport LLC in Louisville, Kentucky. Uncut and unfiltered, so 68.75% ABV is what came out of the cask.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Why is this American straight whiskey rather than bourbon? Bourbon has to meet specific requirements — mashbill, new charred oak, proof limits at each stage. American straight whiskey is the category for mature stock that falls outside them. It's a legal classification, not a quality one, and it's where a lot of the oldest independently bottled American whiskey ends up.
- How limited is barrel #7? 78 bottles from the whole cask. Nineteen years of evaporation is why the number is so small — a barrel filled today would yield roughly three times that.
- What comes with the bottle? A branded wooden presentation box with the Old Sport mark and the "Vanilla After Dark" pick name on the side, with the bottle itself finished in blue wax.
