We are excited to share with you a limited bottling of NULU that is truly special: NULU Maple Brûlée. We start by using straight bourbon sourced from Indiana and rebarreling it into a maple brûlée barrel. A maple brûlée barrel is an ex-bourbon barrel that aged maple syrup, then is sent back to a cooperage. The cooperage brûlées the wet maple-syrup barrel to caramelise the sugars in the oak, reconstructs the barrel and sends them to us. Secondary maturation in these maple brûlée barrels is unmatched.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Rich aromas of warm maple syrup, burnt sugar, caramel brittle, and dark toasted oak.

Palate: Decadent and syrupy, featuring notes of smoky maple being poured over buttered pancakes. This is balanced by a rich foundation of caramelised sugar, fig jam, and deep, toasted oak, ensuring it never tastes cloyingly sweet.

Finish: Long, warming, and sweet with a distinct lingering maple brûlée richness and toasted oak.

"This is one of the richest and most unique bourbons we’ve tried" - Aussie Bourbon Lovers

"One of my favorite finished bourbons is from Nulu Whiskey Company." - Whiskey Weather

"I think it’s safe to say I’m a fan of maple brûlée finishes, this is significantly better than a straight up maple syrup finish. This really drinks like a double oaked bourbon, with some subtle maple in the background to compliment it." - /r/bourbon (user: vexmythocrust)

"I expected this to a have a lot more maple right off the bat and almost taste too sweet and turn me off. I expected all of the caramelization of the brûlée barrel to overdo the sugar notes, but in fact it was more subtle than I had anticipated and i appreciate that. I wonder if the brûlée technique maybe burns off some of the sugars so the final product is not cloying." - /r/bourbon (user: Awesam)

"I really enjoy this bottle, and I need to pick up some more barrel selects the next time I visit Evergreen.  I think this finish really suits my fancy – the maple syrup is altered by the toasting process so instead of tasting like maple syrup-flavored bourbon it evolves in a very interesting way.  But I don’t think it is just my personal taste… these are great bottles and I encourage you to try on should you encounter one in the wild." - /r/bourbon (user: Ravenloft_Refugee)

"While the bourbon doesn't seem to coat the glass – WOW does it coat the mouth. It is thick and warm and velvety. In 6 years of drinking bourbon, I can safely say this is the best mouthfeel I have come across yet." - /r/bourbon (user: Ravenloft_Refugee)
