La Medida Mezcal Bicuishe is a wild-varietal artisanal mezcal from the La Medida brand led by Julián Vidal Gómez Rodríguez — an unsung icon of Oaxacan mezcal for 40+ years. Bicuishe (Agave karwinskii subspecies) is a tall, stalk-like wild agave in the karwinskii family — prized for the bright, elegant, and mineral mezcal it produces.

Karwinskii varietals like Bicuishe, Madrecuishe, and Cuishe are increasingly important in the artisanal mezcal renaissance, with the wild-harvested plants producing more concentrated and structurally complex spirits than cultivated Espadin. La Medida’s collaborative approach across multiple Oaxacan producer communities allows access to these wild varietals through traditional small-batch production.
