Jura 21 Year Old Scotch Whisky
Beskrivning
Jura 21 Year Old is a premium expression from Isle of Jura Distillery — the only distillery on the island of Jura in the Inner Hebrides, one of Scotland’s most remote inhabited islands — presenting a deep copper expression of marshmallow nougat, toffee, honey, and malted milk balls on the nose, with rhubarb, stewed fruits, dry roasted peanut, cardamom, and saffron on the palate, and a medium oak finish.
Isle of Jura Distillery was established in the Craighouse village in 1810 and is one of the few distilleries that effectively serves a single community — the island has fewer than 200 inhabitants, outnumbered by its red deer population of over 6,000. At 21 years, the Jura character — characteristically lightly peated and accessible for an island single malt — has developed the deep copper colour and the rich, warm complexity of extended maturation in the island’s maritime climate. Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Isle of Jura distinctive among Scottish island whiskies?
Jura is characteristically lighter and less intensely peated than other island single malts — despite being just a mile’s ferry crossing from heavily peated Islay, Jura produces a gentler, more accessible island whisky. The island’s remote and isolated environment and the distillery’s tall stills contribute to the characteristic lightness. Order online with fast shipping.
