Glenfarclas 13 year old ’Textbook’ release by SMWS.
A great whisky distilled on the 25th of January 2012. Maturation was in ex-bourbon hogshead followed by a 1st fill ex-Oloroso hogshead. Bottling was at a natural cask strength of 56.7% abv.
A classically sherried dram with clear Oloroso influence, makes for a profile befitting of this Speyside great. It is both deep and rich with great dried fruit notes.
