Distilled at Glenburgie on 5th September 1995 and matured for 30 years before being bottled on 25th June 2026 by Signatory Vintage for their Symington's Choice range.

Selected by Signatory Vintage founder Andrew Symington, the Symington's Choice series focuses on particularly well-aged casks drawn from the company's extensive stocks at Pitlochry.

This single cask Speyside whisky was matured in a first fill Palo Cortado hogshead finish, cask number 217, and bottled at a natural cask strength of 50.2% ABV. The cask yielded just 339 bottles.

Palo Cortado is one of the less commonly encountered styles of sherry cask used for Scotch whisky maturation, traditionally prized for combining the aromatic finesse associated with Amontillado with the fuller, richer character of Oloroso. Its use here as a first fill finishing cask adds an interesting element to this 30 year old Glenburgie.

August 2026 saw Signatory Vintage release four 30 year old Glenburgie single casks as part of the Symington's Choice range, each showcasing a different style of sherry cask finish: Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, Palo Cortado and Amontillado. Distilled in 1995 and matured for three decades, the four releases offer a fascinating opportunity to explore how these contrasting sherry cask styles can shape the same beautifully matured Glenburgie spirit, from the richer influence of Oloroso and PX to the more delicate, nutty and aromatic character associated with Palo Cortado and Amontillado.
