After many years in the wilderness, things have been looking up for Fettercairn distillery - although this pretty Highland distillery remains very much in the shadow of sister distillery Dalmore, there are positive signs of recovery under Whyte & Mackay's new owners Emperador.

Fettercairn's ambitious 2018 relaunch included the release of this well-received prestige Fettercairn 22-year-old edition. Bottled at a refreshing 47%, this bourbon-matured old Fettercairn is a fruity dram with well-balanced vanilla, caramel and peppery spice.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Amber gold.

Palate: Banana, citrus fruit and plum, combines with raisin, fig and gingerbread.

Finish: Spiced pear, caramelised orange and coffee, tempered by liquorice that then makes way to morello cherry, plum and treacle.
