This Highland single malt was matured in Amarone wine casks and bottled at 46% ABV. Amarone della Valpolicella is a rich Italian red wine from the Veneto region, produced using grapes that are partially dried after harvesting to concentrate their sugars, flavours and aromas. The resulting wine is typically full-bodied and intensely flavoured, making its casks an interesting choice for whisky maturation.

Edradour is particularly well suited to small-scale and unusual maturation projects, with the distillery having released whisky from an extensive variety of wine and fortified-wine casks over the years. 18 years of maturation in Amarone casks has given the whisky the notably deep colour visible in the bottle.

An interesting example of Edradour's wine-cask matured style, combining the distillery's robust Highland spirit with the influence of Amarone casks.
