Distilled at Caol Ila in 2014 and matured for 8 years before being bottled by Douglas Laing for their Premier Barrel range.

This Islay single malt was drawn from a single cask and bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or added colouring. The release was limited to just 424 individually numbered ceramic decanters.

Douglas Laing's Premier Barrel range takes inspiration from the traditional ceramic whisky decanters of the Victorian era, with each small-batch or single-cask release presented in a distinctive handmade ceramic bottle.

Caol Ila is one of Islay's largest distilleries, yet much of its production has traditionally been destined for blended Scotch whisky. Its spirit is typically known for a cleaner, more restrained style of peat smoke than some of its Islay neighbours, often accompanied by citrus, maritime and slightly oily notes.

Douglas Laing's tasting notes describe a sweet, ashy and beachy nose, followed by phenols and barley on the palate, with a long finish of striking spices and smokiness.

Please Note: This bottle is a part of a large batch of bin-ends we recently picked up at a great price, enabling us to pass on savings to our customers.
