A single cask Caol Ila 2014 8-year-old Islay single malt whisky, bottled by Douglas Laing for their distinctive Premier Barrel range.

Distilled in 2014 and matured for eight years, this Caol Ila was bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration, with the single cask yielding 408 of Premier Barrel’s hand-filled ceramic decanters. Caol Ila’s spirit is renowned for its clean, elegant style of Islay peat, typically combining maritime smoke with citrus, malt and a touch of coastal salinity.

Douglas Laing’s Premier Barrel series pairs single cask whiskies with wonderfully retro ceramic decanters inspired by the old-fashioned whisky bottles once found behind traditional Scottish bars. This young Caol Ila should be a lively, characterful example, with plenty of fresh distillery character and punchy Islay smoke.
