An 11 year old Caol Ila single malt from Douglas Laing’s Single Minded range, distilled in February 2011 and bottled in September 2022. Matured in a refill hogshead, Single Cask DL15964 yielded just 282 bottles.

Bottled at a cask strength of 59.7% without colouring or chill filtration, this is a powerful Islay single malt showing the smoky, maritime character associated with Caol Ila.

Douglas Laing's tasting notes describe briny aromas initially, followed by peated barley and freshly ground peppercorns. The palate is thick and oily with smoke, charred oak and streaky bacon on buttered toast, leading to a long finish with chimney soot and damp earth.
