Big Peat is Douglas Laing's Islay blended malt Scotch whisky, bringing together single malts from across the island, including spirit from Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen.

Bottled at 46% ABV and without chill filtration, Big Peat was launched in 2009 as part of Douglas Laing's Remarkable Regional Malts range. The whisky is produced in small batches, combining the smoky and maritime character traditionally associated with Islay malts.

The label's distinctive fisherman character has become a familiar feature of Big Peat releases, with numerous limited editions and age-stated versions appearing alongside this original bottling.

Douglas Laing's tasting notes describe sweet peat, smoke, ash and a salty coastal character, with further notes of tar, chimneys and a long, lingering finish.
