Balmenach 2013-2022 | 8 Year Old Douglas Laing Provenance Single Cask DL15655
Beskrivning
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Douglas Laing 70cl / 46%
Distilled at Balmenach in October 2013 and matured for 8 years before being bottled by Douglas Laing in March 2022 for their Provenance range.
This Speyside single malt was drawn from a single ex-bourbon barrel, cask DL15655, and bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or added colouring. The release was limited to just 355 bottles.
Douglas Laing's Provenance range showcases single cask and small batch whiskies from distilleries across Scotland, bottled with an emphasis on preserving the individual character of the spirit and cask.
Douglas Laing's tasting notes describe milk chocolate, pistachio nuts and fresh lime skin shavings on the nose, followed by sweet malt, gentle dried ginger and honeycomb on the palate. The finish is long with icing sugar, cream cakes and sweet baked brioche.
Balmenach is one of the less commonly encountered Speyside single malts, with much of the distillery's production traditionally destined for blended Scotch whisky. The distillery operates traditional worm tub condensers, a feature that can contribute to the weightier character associated with its spirit.
Please Note: This bottle is a part of a large batch of bin-ends we recently picked up at a great price, enabling us to pass on savings to our customers. However, only one or two bottles of each product were included in the parcel - so when they’re gone they’re gone! Please note that due to the size and nature of this batch of stock, some labels and boxes may show signs of wear.
