Ballechin 2009 Cask Strength 15 Year Old Orange Wine Finish 54.1%

An intriguing Ballechin 15-year-old release from Edradour distillery. This heavily peated version of Edradour was finished in Huelva orange wine casks and bottled in 2024 at a cask strength of 54.1% abv. Huelva orange wine from Andalucia is macerated with orange peel then aged in a solera system. Finishing maturation in these ex-orange wine casks has resulted in a whisky that is rich with citrus, orange zest and sweeter floral notes which balances beautifully with it's peaty, earthy character.
