An ‘Undulating Unctuousness’ Arran 9 year old from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society. Distilled in the 2nd of December 2015 and matured in a 1st fill ex-sherry hogshead.
This Society Cask No: 121.118 release has been described as a ‘despicably delicious & old-school sherry matured example of a great islander’
The palate has a fantastic sherry influence with an earthy depth and notes of syrupy dark fruits, balsamic, rancio and walnut liqueur with natural tar resin. With a splash of water there’s a dark fruit intensity with nuts, cocoa, dark chocolate and tobacco. This dram sounds undeniably delicious and bottled at 61.1% abv to intensify all that great flavour.
